The Domestics invited to play at Colveille Cafe – 9th February 2018

We were supposed to be on holiday …

writing new material …

having a relaxing time …

recuperating …

but no …

We got talking to a few of the local folks and there was a fundraiser pizza evening at the Colville Cafe for the Colville Project and were were invited come and play a few of our songs. We managed to scrabble a full set together using some of the songs Andy used to play when he did his open mics.

Set List:

  • C’mon Billy
  • Old Man
  • Shame
  • Down By The Water
  • Wanna Be With You     lyrics
  • Lies
  • Kill Of The Night
  • Heal Over
  • Energise
  • Kitty Cat
  • Domestic Bliss     lyrics

It was definitely an adventure, there was no PA to speak of – all we had was our little Ashdown acoustic guitar amp and a small fender amp for amplification. Fortunately I had a mini mixer with me so we were able to put the vocals into the guitar amps. We cobbled it all together (Andy has a knack of being able to make these things work!)

The evening was fabulous – everyone seemed to enjoy the mixture of classic songs they recognised and the unusual combination of instruments that The Domestics wielded. Payment was a few beers and pizza – perfection! The evening was topped off for us – not only because of the number of lovely supportive comments we got, but also because of a super cute group of young girls who had gone out and collected flowers themselves and presented them to Larissa #heartmelt!

Thanks so much to Steve Carson at Colville Cafe … we will surely be back!
