Waiheke Song & Poetry Thing proudly presents a Love Jam, 2018. Featuring MC actress/comic Emma Bower, poets Rata Gordon, Michelle Chote, Brent Simpson (last year’s poetry winner) original songsters and musicians Tommy Pickett, The Domestics, Jaimie Stone, & Katy Soljak; others TBA. This is a warm down event following National Poetry Day supported by the Waiheke Library and local island businesses. An all-island poetry competition will be held leading up to the night with winners announced and their poems performed for the audience. This will be a ticketed event with refreshments made by Julie Biuso of Shared Kitchen.
Entry Details: $20 for waged, $10 for unwaged, children are free, cash on the night. Please reserve your seats by emailing julie@sharedkitchen.co.nz

Waiheke Poetry Love Jam Poetry Competition
Waiheke Song & Poetry Thing proudly presents this all-island poetry competition leading up to our Saturday night finale, Love Jam 2018. Winners will be announced on the night, and their poems performed for the audience, as part of the awesome evening blend of warmth, words and music. C’mon Waiheke, let’s get writing!
Cost: Free (there are prizes!)
Open to: Waiheke residents only. Three categories: 5-12 yrs, 13 – 18 and adult.
Submission details: Email entries with name, age and contact details to katsun@xtra.co.nz. Paper copies can be put into the special poetry box at the Waiheke Library with name, age and contact details attached to the poem. The competition boxes will be at the library from June 27.
