An Intimate evening at Rocky Bay hall – 28th April 2018
Larissa decided to make this happen and that it was going to be a success. We joined forces with Øyawa and Nikki Ngatai to present an intimate evening of entertainment. What a superb evening … the event sold out completely. The stage was set up with a homely feel with a carpet, pictures on the wall, table lamps and comfy chairs. The audience were mainly seated around table and tea and home made cakes were available adding to the intimacy of the setting.
Brett Garrity – the bass player of Øyawa opened the evening with his debut performance of his own songs and overcame his first night nerves to give a humorous account of himself through his music. The Domestics performed next in their own unique quirky style followed by Nikki Ngatai who was beautifully accompanied by Gina Goad. Øyawa completed the evening with a compelling (sorta unplugged but not quite) performance.
The Domestics Set List:
- Down By The Water
- C’mon Billy
- Wanna Be With You lyrics
- Precious You Are
- Heal Over
- Kill Of The Night
- Kitty Cat
- Domestic Bliss lyrics
It was the first performance of “Precious You Are” which went down extremely well and made the hard work over the previous few months getting it finished and to performance standard so worthwhile.
The understated and homely feel made it an evening to remember. We will surely be doing something similar again!
We had to turn a few people away because of the limited numbers allowed in the hall of tickets available, but we have since had quite a few people come up to us and compliment us on the evening. Get in quick next time we return to Rocky Bay … word is out now!
